Every year, 1st to 7th September is observed as National Nutrition Week in India to raise awareness about the importance of healthy eating and balanced nutrition for overall well-being. For me, as a nutritionist, this week is not just about spreading knowledge — it’s about inspiring people to make simple, sustainable changes in their daily diet and lifestyle.

Why Nutrition Matters

In today’s fast-paced world, many of us compromise on nutrition due to busy schedules, processed foods, or lack of awareness. But the truth is, food is our body’s fuel — the quality of what we eat directly impacts our immunity, energy, mental health, and long-term wellness.

Proper nutrition helps in:

  • Preventing lifestyle disorders like diabetes, obesity, and hypertension
  • Boosting immunity and faster recovery from illnesses
  • Supporting children’s growth and development
